Simply put, we’re connoisseurs
of premium oysters.

We specialize in catering oyster raw bars, featuring world-class oysters from across the country, based out of lovely Fairhope, Alabama.. We love all things related to oysters though, and now offer some additional services, including guest shucking, server training for restaurants and raw bars, and consulting services. If you're interested in learning more, please contact us.

Have shucking knife, will travel.

When you book The Wandering Oyster for a catering event, we bring all the ice and oysters and trimmings you could want. But it’s not just any oysters you and your guests will be enjoying.

LIKE FINE WINES, THESE OYSTERS
FEATURE REGIONAL FLAVORS.

We serve our guests oysters from all across the country. Ones from the Northeast are briny, bold, and crisp. West Coast varieties feature hints of cucumber and watermelon, while our Gulf Coast species are sweet and mild with less briny characteristics. But they’re all succulent, no matter where they come from.

RAISED WITH LOVE.

Unlike typical oysters from the wild, the ones we serve are cultivated for quality, not harvested for volume. They’re raised and cared for by a network of local farmers around the country who provide us with the very best nature has to offer, resulting in consistent sizes and richer tastes.

HAVE A GREAT TIME EATING THEM.
AND HEARING ABOUT THEM.

We like to serve up stories along with our oysters. Who raised them and what techniques were used. Their geographical differences. What beer pairs best with them. It’s all part of the experience at each event we cater. And everything is provided—shucking knives, lemons, hand-crafted mignonette, hot sauce, crackers, napkins, and signage to label different varieties.

Dressed with care.

Some enjoy our oysters just as they came from the water, but we also put offer a trio of mignonetts: sweet onion red wine vinegar, cucumber ginger, and jalapeno ruby grapefruit. Guests find that these accents make great oysters even better, while still allowing them to savor the oyster itself. We served these up to Food Network’s Guy Fieri on Guy’s Family Vacation and you can find the recipes here
